5 May 2011 (day 50) - Slab preparation continue, Engineer's inspection

At the midday, I stopped by at the site, they were preparing the final touch. Looked almost ready and an Engineer will inspect the slab on the technical aspect today.

I am not confident seeing the steel were cut between footing in the middle, there are around 16 footing in the middle.

Also the stells are not strong enough at the garage entrance, only 5 starter N12 bars along 4.5 meters. I asked the trademan, he said it is ok because the concrete will be very thick on that area.

But double slab fabric at each corners is good.

That day termite protection company came to the site also and cover all down pipes on the slab with chemical plastic.

At around 3 pm an Engineer came to the site and did the inspection.

Thanks God, he picked up that the thickening steel should be at least 20 cm below the stell fabric, therefore he instructed to take away one layer of bricks at the middle footings and connecting all the thickening steel.
Also he asked to put more stell on the garage entrace and bound them to the middle slab fabric.
I hope the trademens will do before pouring the concrete tomorrow.
