6 May 2011 (day 51) - Concreting Slab

I knew today will be the final day of slab stage and I am free, so I came to the site around 8 am.

The builder was there, taking some pictures.

I see that the thickening steels have been connecting all after one layer of bricks on middle footings took away. Now they are strong.

On the garage entrance, I saw there we additional slab fabric connecting the starter bar, but they are not bounding to the middle yet. I heard the builder saying something about the steel there but not sure what is was.

I was instructed to leave the site by builder, so I am not sure is the garage entrance will be strong or not. Wish I can take some images when the concrete were pouring there.......bhaaahhhh

After lunch I went to the site. A concrete mixer truck was going to the project.

Inside, the concrete pump truck was back to back with a mixer truck pumping the concrete.

All areas has been poured with concrete except the alfresco area, so I took some pictures of the men worked there:

Looks like he has fun with the hose.....

I received email about bill for slab stage from builder sent around 10am. Then I went to their office around 14.00 pm giving the cheque for slab stage. Everybody happy, except I still have burden with the broken power cable to the shed and wrong HSTP's tank location.

At around 3 pm they started to take away the wood planks and polishing the concrete.

At the alfresco area, they did the brooming finish.

Then they put some chemical liquid at garage area which floor gonna be concrete finished only, no tile. He said to help the concrete not crack during the curing period.

This is the image from the other side of garage.
